CRETE. Koinon of Crete. Gaius (Caligula), with Divus Augustus, 37-41. Drachm (Silver, 17 mm, 2.49 g, 7 h), 37-41. [Γ ΚΑΙΣΑΡ] ΣΕΒ ΓΕΡΜ ΑΡΧ Μ[Ε]Γ ΔΗΜ ΕΞ[ΟΥ ΥΠΑ] Bare head of Gaius to right, with slight drapery on his left shoulder and transverse scepter in the back. Rev. Radiate head of Divus Augustus to right; around, seven stars. RPC I 965. Rare and beautifully toned. Thin flan crack and with minor flan faults, otherwise, very fine.
